The Integrated Global Radiosonde Archive (IGRA) consists of radiosonde
and pilot balloon observations at over 1500 globally distributed
stations. Observations are available for standard, surface, tropopause
and significant levels. The period of record varies from station to
station, with many extending from 1970 to present. Station records are
updated daily and are available online at no charge.

The NOAA/ESRL radiosonde archive contains the same data as the IGRA.
The main difference is a succinct database access form where the user
enters the station identifier.

Radiosonde data from October of 1949 - May of 2009 is available at the FMI link. Go to 'PTU sondes' for profiles of temperature, pressure, and wind. The 'Stratospheric water vapor sondes' directory contains vertical profiles of water vapor dating from 2002-2006. All data files are in .dat format.

Register with the ARM site. After you log in check 'North Slope Alaska' or 'Eureka' when prompted to chose an ARM site. Choose instruments -> Atmospheric profiling -> Balloon-Borne Sounding System and a particular measurement method to retrieve data.

The time period of archived data varies for each station. Most locations have soundings from 1973 - present. Radiosondes are released twice a day (0Z and 12Z) at each site and data is in ASCII format. From the link, go to 'North Pole' under Region and then type the station identifier/number in the box located at the bottom left of the page.
